Abstract

Allama Abu BakarAlraziAljassas is the translator of Tafseer Ahkam ul Quran. It was written in the 4^th century of Hijra. The current article presents the research study conducted on the sources of tafseer ‘Ahkam-ul-Quran’. This scripture is a milestone and leader for subsequent tafaseer and has the status of origin. Its theme is based on Muslim jurisprudence. In that era, Great Muslim jurists and scholars of Shariah were wholeheartedly engrossed in their academic persuits. A brief discussion is represented in this research paper on those sources adopted by Imam Jassas in his tafseer.We find these sources best, authentic, original and primary sources. Imam jassas has made use of the expertise of the best Arab linguists, poets and grammar expertsin order to elaborate the comprehension of verses. This quality distinguished him from other‘mufassareen’. In essence, these sources made Imam Jassas’s work colossal and trustworthy.
