Abstract

Funeral prayer began in Islam in the first year of the Hijrah.In the month of Shawwal,seven months after the Hijrah.Hazrat Asad Bin Zurara ( R.A) was the first muslim to die after the migration and th e first funeral prayer in Islam was offered to him.The key to the heaven are righteous deeds. Funeral prayer is farz-e-kifaya according to the most of the Scholars of Islam. The Prophets are alive in their graves. Scholars views are different about furnal prayer in absentia. It is not permissible according to Imam Abu Hanifa R.A and Imam Malik R.A and according to Imam Shafi R.A it is permissible. The underage children of Muslims who die will go to heaven. The ghusl of the deceased is not due to the impurity of his body.But is due to his honour.The Holy Prophet (SAWS) gave his chador (shawl)to his daughter Hazrat Zainab (R.A) for her shroud at the time of her death. Allama Aeni R.A says that the Hadith proves that it is permissible to receive something from elders as blessing. It is permissible to shrouding a woman with man's clothes. The woman will be shrouded in five garments
