Abstract

The teaching of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is undoubtedly the greatest source of guidance for the entire human race as it changed an inhumane, illiterate and uncivilized nation which had stoped to the bottom of barbarism previously . Furthermore it channelized the direction of their thinking and opened new horizons of knowledge for them. His life and teachings were initially compiled in the form of Mughazi to benefit the humanity both in this world and the world hereafter. However, the compilation assumed the name of Seerat or Al-Sayyer after it had evolved through different stages and finally reached in the hands of Ibn e Hisham. During the period of Prophethood ,there did not exist a compiled form of seerat but the Holy Prophet(PBUH) himself was present among his Companions who would endeavor amongst themselves to follow each and every saying and gesture of the Prophet (PBUH) , and completed with each other in order to attain a higher rank by practicing hadith. After departure of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the writing of the hadith began regularly. The process of writing hadith can be divided into three stages.

1- The first step in writing a hadith partially is that by the companions (Sahaba).

2- The second step of writing a hadith is called Eahd e Tabeen. (Coming soon after the Companions)

3- The third step in writing a hadith is called Eahd e Taba Tabeen (Coming soon after the Tabeen) and it continued during the fourth Hijri.
