This objective of this article is to discuss in brief the Political philosophy of Syed Abul A'ala Maududi (1903-1979) and to understand his views regarding contemporary Muslim world's problems & politics. Maududi is among the most influential thinkers of the 20th century who deeply impressed the Muslim youths globally and rebuilt their confidence in Islam and prevented them from being swept away in the flood of non-Islamic ideas and motivated them to become a part of the revival movements. His commentary "Tafheem-ul-Quran" is among the popular commentaries of current era. He also played a very important role in Pakistani politics and was a strong voice for islamization and democratic freedoms. He revived the Qur'anic idea of "Eqamat e deen", better known as "Political Islam" in the western world. His thought is based on this ideology. However, he believes in peaceful struggle and never supported violence or terrorism for his cause.
