Abstract

Islamic Republic of Pakistan owes it's existence to the ideology of Islam. The ultimate objective of the creation of Pakistan was the implementation of Islamic norms and values in society. The constitutional history of Pakistan indeed is a journey from secularism to the supremacy of Islamic law and constitution in the country. It was decided once for all in the constitution of 1973 that no law repugnant to the Islamic principles of the Quran and Sunnah will enacted in the country. The Islamic ideological council was established to work out the process and procedure of a regular system. The council has submitted hundreds of recommendations since the days of its inception. The research article that fallows contains an analyses of the recommendations of the council about the law of apostasy and its internal contradiction.
