Abstract

Nikah has a pivotal importance and sanctity in Shariah. The Holy Prophet s.a.w.w quoted: "Nikah is my Sunnah ". Following are the points included in the aims and objectives and benefits of Nikah. It provides us with the survival of human race, propagation of human generation, protection of human sanctity, completion of religious and social provisions, relaxation of heartand family coordination. In this article Nikah e Misyaar has also been mentioned alongwith the efficacy of Nikah. In the Arab world Nikah e Misyaar is practised quite commonly. Although there is a difference of opinion among religious scholars as far as its definition and commandment are concerned. Reasons of priorities have also been elaborated. As a reultant it can be concluded that Nikah e Urfi is more authentic and genuine and one should feel ease in it, however, in an acute compulsion and abhorrence consent permission of Nikah e Misyaar can also be given.
