Abstract

Islam has established ease and comfort in every aspect of life. Therefore, ease and comfort have played a pivotal role in economic and social spheres beside individual and collective lives of people. The divine order of ease and facilitation has influenced every aspect of human life. It will not be wrong to say that relaxation occupies the position of a backbone in Islam. The holy religion of Islam has created flexibility in rigid divine rules and in some cases, it has created excessive flexibility. Islam has established the principle of moderation in all walks of life.

Javed Ahmed Ghamidi is deemed as a great intellectual, researcher and scholar of religion and Urdu particularly in Pakistan. Majority of his views are contradictory and therefore aren’t consistent with the contemporary religious ideologies. The traditional religious scholars of Islam criticize him for his views. Javed Ahmed Ghamidi draws his views from the classical Arabic words of holy Quran. He therefore attempts to elucidate the very words on contemporary lines. Based on this proposition, he justifies and explicates some of the verses of holy Quran in a manner which is different from the prevailed contemporary religious thoughts.  For instance, the testimony of woman, the clash of man and woman, law of inheritance, repudiation of rajam punishment, declaration of no capital punishment for heretic, etc.
