Abstract

Sheikh Muhammad Idrees Kandhalvi is a renowned Islamic scholar who has not only serviced Islam with his outstanding writings in the topics of Tafseer, hadith, belief, seerah, politics etc., but also made his name in Arabic literature with his poetry and prose. Writing of explanations of Ahadis has been a job every great scholar dreamt of and considered it a blessing if they could complete any of Ahidis work. Sheikh Kandhalwi not only managed to compile his explanations on the famous book of Hadis Mishkat ul Masabih by the name of At Taleeq Us Sabih but also made it a great work of Arabic literature. This is because he used various Arabic literature sections in such a way that it worked for the explanatory cause as well as his competency over literature. This study shows how he managed to use Arabic literature in his explanatory book which comes from the pen of a subcontinent scholar
