Abstract

This research paper deals with an important book related to one of the well-known aspect of Islamic jurisprudence which is called “fatawa” its deals those contemporary legal and social issues which does not exist in the classical literature of jurisprudence and Muslim scholar elaborates its legal status in the light of Qur’an and Sunnah and opinions of classical jurists and their principals. I have focused on in this research work on one of the prominent book known as “ Fatawa Wadoodia” which was compiled in Swat state under the supervision of the than King of the said state. The purpose of this book was to provide legal Islamic guidance to those judges who were working in the territory of Swat state. The state has hired a very prominent Islamic scholar of that time Molana Muhammad Ibrahim Bouneri for this job who were serving in Ajmer India, the book has divided into two major category of Islamic law, one is related to the ritual practices and the second one has discussed social and judicial issues. This research paper is related to the first volume of the said book, and it also has the method of books as well as a brief history of this precious intellectual efforts of the Swat state.
