Abstract

After 1857, under the patronage of the British government, Christian missionaries began to preach Christianity openly. The priests were attacking Islam through writing, speech, and debate. They were not only preaching their own religion, but also pointing out the fabricated flaws in religion Islam and trying to justify it as unnecessary and unnatural. Mawlānā Abdul Haq Haqqāni (1851-1917) wrote a Tafsīr for that purpose. In his Tafsīr he answered the objections of the objectors specialy christian missionaries in a victorious and debated manner and dispelled the doubts of the skeptics with strong arguments. The contradictions of the Previous Heavenly Books have been clarified. The eloquence and superiority of the Qur’ānic words over the Previous Heavenly Books have been clarified. The objections raised by the Ahl-e-kitāb against the Qur’ān have been refuted by reasoning from their Holy Books. By presenting a corrected version of distorted situations from their Holy Books, the opportunity has been provided to stand out before the Qur’ān by providing reassuring information to the Ahl-e-kitāb, who were hesitant about the contradictory statements of the Holy Bible.
